Marco Berger was born in 1977 in Buenos Aires in Argentina. He studied at Universidad del Vine in hometown. His first short The Watch competed in Cannes and Sundance. His first feature Plan B quickly became a classic in queer world cinema. His second film Absent won the Teddy Award for best feature in Berlinale 2011. After Hawaii he presented Butterfly, Taekwondo and The Blond One. The Young Hunter is his latest film and had the World Premiere at International Film Festival of Rotterdam 2020.
Marco Berger adopts thriller elements to mixed effect in this well-played story of a blackmailed gay teen, astutely treating coercion as the problem rather than sexual activity among adolescents.
