The 49th FEST Attracts Great Attention

In the first eight hours since the start of ticket sales for the upcoming 49th International Film Festival - FEST, more than 2,000 tickets were sold at the box offices of Sava Centre, Kombank Hall, Belgrade Youth Centre and Cineplexx Galerija Belgrade, Ticket Vision outlets, as well as through online service www.tickets.rs.

Damir Handanović, Director of CEBEF and Vice President of the FEST Board, expressed his satisfaction on this occasion, and pointed out: ‘FEST has a loyal audience, which eagerly awaits a quality film programme even in these challenging times of the pandemic, and together with CEBEF does everything to maintain and revitalize cinema life in Serbia. I am especially glad that we have big and important cultural events, FEST, SOFEST and BEMUS, but also other events that we are planning in the coming months, and with their outstanding programmes Belgrade will come to life, respecting all measures prescribed by the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the COVID-19 Infection Disease Crisis Response Team.’    

This year's edition of the Festival is held under the slogan ‘Back to the Future’ and as the biggest and most famous film event in Serbia and the region, it aims to contribute to a sizable return of audiences to cinemas. The FEST programme will showcase more than 70 film premieres of the latest world and Serbian productions in seven programme sections: Main Competition Programme, Gala, FEST’s 50, FEST Focus, FEST 49, Out of Competition Main Programme and Intro FEST.

The International Film Festival - FEST is organized by the Belgrade Festivals Centre (CEBEF), under the auspices of the City of Belgrade and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information.
